Sound of Music Youth Edition Emmanuel College

The Sound of Music Youth Edition is playing at the Wyton Theatre at Emmanuel College from May 17 through to May 19 with matinee and evening performances scheduled. The spectacular 60-minute musical, designed for secondary school performers, is based on the 1965 film and the 1959 Broadway adaptation.

The Emmanuel College cast will include students from across all year levels led by Producer (Head of Performing Arts) Megan Davies, Director Cindy Lee Morgan, Music Director, Dean Mulholland and Vocal Director Maria Carras-Kerr.

Emmanuel College Warrnambool's presentation of the Sound of Music will delight all ages. The final collaboration between Rodgers & Hammerstein was destined to become the world’s most beloved musical. Featuring a trove of cherished songs, including “Climb Every Mountain,” “My Favourite Things,” “Do-Re-Mi,” “Sixteen Going on Seventeen” and the title number, "The Sound of Music" won the hearts of audiences worldwide, earning five Tony Awards and five Oscars. The inspirational story, based on the memoir of Maria Augusta Trapp, follows a Nun in training who serves as governess to the seven children of the imperious Captain Von Trapp, bringing music and joy to the household. But as the forces of Nazism take hold of Austria, Maria and the entire Von Trapp family must make a moral decision.

The Sound of Music Youth Edition is presented through special arrangement with ORiGiN™ and all materials are provided by R & H Theatricals, A Concord Theatricals Company.
