On Friday, 14 April we welcomed back the CBC Class of 1970 and enjoyed the company and stories they had to share. We were only expecting a handful of them, so it was a real treat to see so many of them turn up and reconnect.
On arrival, there were plenty of re-introductions among the boys, with many of them being recognised more often by their nicknames. Organsiers Rick Tipping and Pat Delaney said a few words prior to the tour kicking off, and fondly recalled the names of their fellow class mates who had passed away.
As we wandered around campus, the boys were quick to point out the "new" buildings on site, however it was the familiar buildings that really got the boys talking. Stories of Br Hehir and his dog were recalled, along with the introduction of girls on campus, boxing, and many other classroom antics. A number of the boys also proudly shared their parents involvement in the fundraising for and the building of the Chapel.
