Peter Morgan possesses a deep pride in the past achievements and the future directions of Emmanuel College. In his tenth year as College Principal, Peter knows and appreciates the importance and the transformative power of education.
Peter says, “I was the first in my family to experience a university education and to this day I appreciate the high school teacher who provided me with an insight into the opportunities that existed beyond secondary school.”
Peter has worked in education, principally Catholic schools, for most of his working life. For three years he was the academic director of a tuition centre in Singapore where he had the opportunity to establish a new branch of a successful tuition business in Singapore’s western suburb of Jurong. Returning to Victoria in 2002, he was appointed the Deputy Principal at Sacred Heart College Geelong, and with his wife Marie, they enjoyed the lifestyle afforded by the beautiful seaside township of Torquay. In 2012, Peter was appointed the sixth principal of Emmanuel College and along with Marie, he established a new home and life in Warrnambool.
Building on the work of his predecessors, Peter has seen Emmanuel College establish itself as a leading provider of secondary education in the city of Warrnambool. Peter says, “We know however, access to an Emmanuel education is not accessible to all families or young people desirous of an Emmanuel education.” He believes the work of the Foundation is pivotal to creating new opportunities and pathways for young people to access the quality education Emmanuel College provides.
