The Seniore family has a long-standing history with Emmanuel College.

Suzanne Seniore studied at St Ann’s in Year 7, which then amalgamated into Emmanuel College when she was in Year 8. Suzanne is one of six children, with her siblings all attending Emmanuel College too, her mother, Catherine Hingston studied at St Anns, and her father John Hingston, taught at CBC and Emmanuel College for a combined 26 years.

Now, Suzanne and her husband, Stefan have their children Isabella and Juliette attending the college. Three generations studying at Emmanuel College - it is a legacy the family holds dear to their hearts.

Stefan, Suzanne’s husband, said, “It sure is a long history - a legacy.” Suzanne reminisced, “I loved school. I have many great memories of my time at Emmanuel and feel fortunate for the education I had and the friends I made.” She had fond memories of camps and being there with her friends.

Suzanne and Stefan’s daughter, Isabella, is currently making similar lasting memories studying in the 9@RICE program and is finding it really enjoyable. Isabella was initially apprehensive about going to a different campus, the Rice Campus, not knowing where to go - but now she has settled in well.

While Isabella currently studies in the new 9@RICE program, she looks to her younger sister Juliette with great enthusiasm and a pinch of envy that she gets to experience the program on the McAuley Campus in the upcoming new Edmund Rice Centre.

Juliette is in Year 7 and will be in Year 9 when the Edmund Rice Centre is complete. The two sisters are both experiencing new chapters in the 9@RICE program.

During Isabella’s days of school at Emmanuel College, she noticed her grandparent’s names on a fundraising seat plaque in the Emmanuel Centre and in the Emmanuel College memorial garden honouring her grandfather John Hingston, a beloved science teacher. Suzanne added that there are science awards sponsored by the Hingston family honouring John, the VCE Biology Dux Awards and the VCE Chemistry Dux.

Suzanne Seniore’s family has supported the college in many ways, which is deeply appreciated and reflected around the college to acknowledge their contributions.

The family’s positive relationship with Emmanuel College is apparent in how they talk about the school, they are proud to be a part of this community. Suzanne has fond memories of her time at Emmanuel and the Seniore family are excited to continue these chapters with the new Edmund Rice Centre.
